Leaving the cold behind for a vacation in the sun? The same question comes up again and again: what should you pack? To save you hours of wondering what to take and what to leave behind, here's a list of essentials for a week's vacation in the sun. 

Let's start withpants. Pack a pair ofjeansand a pair ofstraight-leg pantsto prepare for mild evening temperatures and avoid mosquito bites! Fortops, bring a few comfortable tops for when it's hot, T-shirts that cover your shoulders... watch out for sunburn! And a shirt for milder temperatures. Pack ajacket, cardigan, or sweater in case the weather isn't what you hoped for. We also slip in a more formal outfit, which can be useful for a special outing.

When you think of sunshine, you think of the beach! Don't forget your towel, swimsuits, and beautiful sarongs, perfect for going out after a day at the beach! Minimal bulk for maximum effect! Finally, pack yourshoes: a pair of closed shoes,sneakers,or hiking boots depending on your planned activities, and open-toed shoes for the beach and city outings. Your feet deserve to breathe too! 

The must-have item that goes with every outfit?Accessories! Scarves, sunglasses, belts, hats, caps, and jewelry are all welcome additions to your suitcase!
